Jan Condon is a lifelong resident of Salem Massachusetts. She began her study of painting privately at the age of nine. Her formal studies continued at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and then at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts.
In 2008 she retired from a thirty year full time career as a graphic artist with a local telephone company. Since then, she has been working out of her home studio where she focuses on building a freelance art business. Her current medium of choice is acrylic, but for many years painted in oils and watercolors. Her work includes painting portraits of people, pets and homes from photographs as well as painting traditional landscapes, seascapes and still life. Her love of family, children, pets and nature are recurring themes that appear frequently in her work.
Light and color are her primary inspirations when painting. Balancing elements through juxtapositions of color, a strong play of light and creating a lyrical, playful quality or sense of movement is what she strives to achieve in each piece. Her ultimate goal as an artist is to share the beauty and joy that she sees in everyday things in hopes that the viewer will be inspired to do the same.
“Color! What a deep and mysterious language,
the language of dreams!”
- Paul Gaugin -

P PURCHASING PAINTINGS OR PRINTS
Some paintings are available to purchase and some are already sold and in private collections.
Many are available in the same size or smaller as giclée prints on canvas or on paper.
A Giclée is a special printing process where archival ink is sprayed onto the surface of archival
paper or canvas using archival inks. It is the most accurate representation of the original
in color and clarity that is available in a print. The colors will not fade or shift for over 100 years.
Please contact Jan via e-mail at jan@jancondon.com or call 978-406-7201
for more information about purchasing, commissioning a painting or ordering prints.
